About

I’m Brian Rougeau. I’ve spent over twenty years telling stories using a film or video camera, contributing to both fictional and documentary genres. One day I was in a filmmaking workshop where the instructor said in an off comment that you can have the worst quality moving image and people will still watch the show, but if the program has bad sound, they’ll turn it off. This stuck with me for a long time until I decided that it was time to learn more about audio story-telling. This is my exploration of that creative world. It is deeply rewarding as it is challenging.

The Corner Tapes is not a weekly nor a monthly podcast. In fact, I am unsure how often I will publish as finding and creating the type of stories I like to produce takes a bit of time for me to come up with ideas. So, I hope that you might consider the stories I produce here like a favourite dessert—it’s something that only comes your way once in a while, but when it does, it’s a nice surprise to enjoy and appreciate.

This is the only place where you will find these stories because I don’t publish often, so it is difficult to justify hosting expenses to remain on Apple podcasts or Spotify. If you want to be notified when I release a new episode, sign up to my mailing list. I promise not to spam you.

Many thanks for joining me on this audio adventure. I hope you enjoy. Have a great day.
